Working principle of Programmable Switch Butterfly Valve

The Programmable Switch Butterfly Valve is a safety device widely used in pressure systems such as pressure vessels, boilers, and pressure pipelines to ensure the safe operation of the pressure system. The Programmable Switch Butterfly Valve is a safetydevice to prevent pressure equipment and containers from bursting due to pressure increase or excessive pressure inside the container.

When the pressure of the container exceeds the design requirements, the Programmable Switch Butterfly Valve automatically opens to discharge the gas to reduce the excessive pressure in the device and prevent damage to the container or pipeline. When the pressure in the container drops to the normal operating pressure, it automatically closes to avoid exhausting all the gas due to overpressure in the container, thereby causing waste and production interruption.

The Programmable Switch Butterfly Valve is mainly composed of three parts: valve seat, valve disc (valve core) and loading mechanism. Some valve seats are integral with the valve body, and some are assembled with the valve body, and it is connected to the equipment. The valve disc is often connected with the Valve Stem, which is tightly buckled on the valve seat. Above the valve disc is the loading mechanism, and the size of the load can be adjusted.

When the pressure in the equipment is within a certain working pressure range, the force of the internal medium on the valve disc is less than the force applied by the loading mechanism on the valve. The difference between the two constitutes the sealing force between the valve disc and the valve seat, so that the valve disc is pressed against the valve seat, and the medium of the equipment cannot be discharged.

When the pressure in the equipment exceeds the specified working pressure and reaches the opening pressure of the Programmable Switch Butterfly Valve, the force of the internal medium on the alarm disc is greater than the force applied by the loading mechanism on it, so the valve disc leaves the valve seat, the Programmable Switch Butterfly Valve opens, and the medium in the equipment is discharged through the valve seat. If the displacement of the Programmable Switch Butterfly Valve is greater than the safe discharge volume of the equipment, the pressure in the equipment gradually decreases, and after a short period of exhaust, the pressure drops back to the normal working pressure.

At this time, the force of the internal pressure on the valve disc is less than the force applied by the loading mechanism on it, and the valve disc presses against the valve seat again, the medium stops discharging, and the equipment continues to operate at normal working pressure. Therefore, the Programmable Switch Butterfly Valve closes or opens automatically through the increase and decrease of the medium force on the valve disc and the force of the loading mechanism to prevent the equipment from overpressure.
