Evolution:
Gate Valve evolved from
Plug Valve. It has the same 90-degree rotation action, but the difference is that the plug body is a sphere with a circular through hole or channel passing through its axis. The ratio of the spherical surface and the channel opening should be such that when the ball rotates 90 degrees, the inlet and outlet should all present a spherical surface, thereby cutting off the flow. This type of valve can be installed at any position in the pipeline.
The Gate Valve only needs to be operated by rotating 90 degrees with the air source of the pneumatic actuator and a very small torque to close tightly. The completely equal inner cavity of the valve body provides a very small resistance and straight flow channel for the medium. It is generally believed that the
Universal Valve is suitable for direct opening and closing, but recent developments have designed the Universal Valve to make it have the function of throttling and flow control.
The main features of the Universal Valve are its compact structure, easy operation and maintenance, and it is suitable for general working media such as water, solvents, acids and natural gas, and also for media with harsh working conditions, such as oxygen, hydrogen peroxide, methane and ethylene. The valve body of the Universal Valve can be integral or combined.
The working principle of the Gate Valve is to make the valve open or closed by rotating the valve core. The Gate Valve is light and small in size, can be made into a large diameter, has reliable sealing, simple structure, and is easy to maintain. The sealing surface and the spherical surface are often in a closed state. The Gate Valve is not easily eroded by the medium and is widely used in various industries. The Gate Valve and the plug valve are valves of the same type, only its closing piece is a sphere, which rotates around the center line of the valve body to achieve opening and closing.
